Privacy regulation and physical spatial organization are crucial dimensions of spatial quality in residential environments, which have been compromised in contemporary housing due to hasty spatial segregation, neglect of route refraction, and the prevalence of uncontrolled visual exposure. Aiming to analyze how physical components influence the organization of privacy and territoriality, this study conducts a comparative analysis of four prominent historical houses in Kasahan. Employing a qualitative approach based on logical argumentation, this research utilizes a descriptive-analytical method alongside a layer-by-layer plan analysis technique. Specifically, physical indicators were extracted from document analysis and subsequently evaluated across the selected cases using layer analysis and comparative matrices. Findings reveal that achieving privacy in the investigated cases is a dynamic process resulting from the synergy among spatial depth, circulation refraction, and light modulation. Increasing spatial depth and the proliferation of courtyards—through multi-articulated thresholds and optical filters—facilitate the mitigation of lines of sight without imposing absolute visual obstruction. In this pattern, natural light functions as a structural tool to grade spatial boundaries and support the transition from public to private domains. Ultimately, explicating this interconnected matrix offers a conceptual model for re-evaluating privacy and qualitative spatial organization in residential architecture.Ultimately, explicating this interconnected matrix offers a conceptual model for re-evaluating privacy and qualitative spatial organization in residential architecture.
